The Best Things to Do in Hvar, Croatia

Hvar is a popular island along the Dalmatian Coast, and for good reason. Here are the top things to do in Hvar that I would recommend adding to your itinerary:

Take in the Views at Fortica Fortress

Hvar

The best view of Hvar Town can be enjoyed from Fortica Fortress. It is well worth the entrance fee.

Besides the breathtaking views, you can delve into the fortress’s history or relax at the café inside. The fortress is easily accessible via a short hike or by vehicle.

Wander the Cobblestone Streets of Hvar Town

Hvar Town’s cobblestone streets offer a plethora of experiences. Explore numerous restaurants, cafés, gelato shops, beach clubs, cats (crazy cat lady over here), and charming sights throughout the day.

Visit The Pakleni Islands

The Pakleni Islands, located just off Hvar, are relatively undeveloped, offering a serene escape from crowds with natural beauty.

Consider a day trip for water activities and relaxation. You can join an organized day tour or rent a boat for more flexibility. Most boat rental companies don’t require prior experience for smaller boats, making it accessible for everyone.

Experience the Nightlife (Hula Hula, Kiva, Carpe Diem)

Hvar is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, so why not include this experience in your itinerary?

Top locations we would recommend are Hula Hula Hvar (also great during the day), Carpe Diem, and Kiva Bar. We were in town at the end of September as things were slowing down and fewer places were open late (or open at all). We still had a blast.
